Access to clean clothing and laundry facilities is a basic need.
The Centre provides access to one washing machine and one dryer for people who may not otherwise have suitable laundry facilities.
As the equipment is shared, only one load can be washed or dried at a time. Availability will depend on existing bookings and the length of each wash and drying cycle.
Please bring:
Your laundry
A bag or basket for transporting it
Laundry detergent
Any other laundry products you normally use
If you do not have detergent, please let us know. We will explain what assistance may be available.
Please tell us before attending if any items are heavily soiled or may present a hygiene risk so we can confirm whether they can be safely washed in the shared machine.
When you arrive, speak with a staff member or volunteer. They will confirm that the equipment is available and explain how it is used.
You are responsible for:
Checking pockets before washing
Following the machine instructions
Collecting your laundry promptly
Leaving the laundry area clean and tidy
Taking responsibility for delicate, valuable or damaged items
The Churchill Neighbourhood Centre cannot accept responsibility for items that are lost, damaged, shrunk or affected during washing or drying.
Please treat staff, volunteers and other community members respectfully and follow any directions provided.
Threatening, abusive or unsafe behaviour will not be accepted and may result in access being refused.
While we don't charge you to access, we fundraise to run this service.
Please consider making a donation.
