About Churchill Neighbourhood Centre

Churchill Neighbourhood Centre is an independent, apolitical, not-for-profit registered charity serving Churchill and District.

We bring people together and help with some of the practical things that can make everyday life difficult. That might mean help with food or filling in a form, learning to cook, joining a social group or finding somewhere to volunteer.

We also make room for people to share what they know, put forward ideas and get involved in their community. Asking for help and having something to contribute are not opposites. Both belong here.

The people behind the Centre

Our small staff team works alongside volunteers, tutors, students on placement and community partners. Our volunteer Board of Governance oversees the organisation.

There is plenty happening behind the scenes as well as in our activities: collecting food, answering enquiries, setting up rooms, organising events, looking after equipment and raising funds. This work keeps the Centre running.

Supporting local ideas

Alongside the services and activities we run, we support community-led projects including Churchill Men's Shed, Churchill Community Garden and Pitta Patta Driving Academy.

The people involved bring their own ideas, skills and commitment. Our role is to help those projects operate through the organisational and administrative support agreed with each group.

How we keep going

We are not a council or government-run service. We work with councils, government agencies, businesses and other organisations while remaining independent.

Grants, donations, fundraising and income from our activities help cover our programmes and everyday running costs. That includes staff, insurance, equipment and the other things needed to deliver our work.

All income goes back into the Centre's charitable purposes.
