In partnership with Kurnai College, young people are currently helping build and prepare a Volvo 240 Wagon for charity rally events such as the Variety Bash.

The car will also support the wider Pitta Patta program, giving young people opportunities to become involved as Motorsport Australia officials and acting as an official support vehicle at events, carrying equipment, shelter and supplies for participants working trackside.

Motorsport needs far more people than just drivers. Pitta Patta Driving Academy will support young people to become Motorsport Australia officials and get involved in real events from the other side of the fence.

Participants can build experience in areas such as flagging, marshalling, checkpoints, communications and event support, gaining practical skills, confidence and a pathway into the wider motorsport community.

Pitta Patta Driving Academy aims to give young people the chance to get behind the wheel in a safe, supervised and affordable environment.

We plan to build a shared fleet of low-cost vehicles so participants can take part in events such as Khanacross and other suitable grassroots driving events without needing to own or fund their own competition car. Over time, participants will get experience in different vehicles, building confidence, car control and practical driving skills.

Pitta Patta Driving Academy will help young people build confidence and practical driving skills before and alongside taking part in motorsport activities.

Training will focus on vehicle control, safe driving habits, understanding how different vehicles behave, basic manoeuvring and developing confidence behind the wheel in a structured and supervised environment.

Pitta Patta Driving Academy is a tool to support your drivers to get their licence and be safer drivers on the road.
It is the expectation that all participants of Pitta Patta Driving Academy have their Learners Permit at a minimum.
We hope someday to have a Learner L to P vehicle run by volunteers to support Learners to get their hours up.
