At Churchill Neighbourhood Centre, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Volunteering is part of every level of our organisation. Every member of our Board of Governance is a volunteer, and many of our tutors generously volunteer their time, knowledge and experience.
Some volunteers bring professional skills, practical experience or local knowledge. Others bring fresh ideas, kindness, enthusiasm or simply a willingness to lend a hand. Every contribution matters.
The more diverse our volunteer team is, the better we can understand our community, develop new ideas and support the people around us. We welcome people with different backgrounds, cultures, abilities, identities, experiences and perspectives.
Whether you can help regularly, occasionally or with a single project, we will work with you to find a role that suits your interests, strengths and availability.
Volunteering is an opportunity to make a genuine difference close to home while building skills, confidence and connections of your own.
When you join our team, you can:
• Meet new people and become more connected with your community.
• Share your knowledge, experience and unique perspective.
• Learn new skills and build practical experience.
• Support important local programs and community projects.
• Be part of a welcoming, inclusive and supportive team.
• See the direct difference your contribution makes.
Our volunteers support almost every part of Churchill Neighbourhood Centre, including:
• Welcoming visitors and helping with reception or administration.
• Supporting our Food Bank and emergency relief programs.
• Helping in the Community Garden, Men’s Shed or Tool Library.
• Assisting with recycling and fundraising activities.
• Tutoring, leading activities or supporting classes and events.
• Sharing professional, creative or practical skills.
• Helping with youth activities and new community projects.
• Working behind the scenes with maintenance, promotion, organisation or technology.
You do not need to be an expert or know exactly where you fit. Tell us what you enjoy, what you are good at or what you would like to learn, and we will help you find your place.
