Churchill Chickens
Churchill Chickens
Meet the Churchill Chickens, the feathered residents of the Churchill Community Garden.
Children from our local Early Learning Centre help feed the chickens with suitable food scraps, collect their eggs and learn about caring for animals. The eggs are then sold, with all proceeds going back into the Community Garden and the ongoing care of the chickens.
This is a child-led community project supported by Churchill Neighbourhood Centre and the Churchill Community Garden.

Our chickens live in the Churchill Community Garden and bring a bit of life, learning and eggscitement to the space.
The project gives local children a hands-on role in caring for the chickens, collecting eggs and learning where food comes from.

The Churchill Chickens even have their own YouTube channel.
Follow along for chicken updates, egg collecting, garden adventures and the occasional bit of questionable chicken behaviour.

Fresh eggs are available to purchase when available.
Proceeds from egg sales go back into the Churchill Community Garden and help support the ongoing care of the chickens.
Sponsor a Chicken
Sponsor a Chicken
For $100, you can sponsor and name one of our chickens.
Each sponsored chicken will wear a uniquely coloured leg band so children and sponsors can tell them apart.
Sponsors can help choose a name, follow their chicken and, where appropriate, collect eggs from their sponsored chicken as part of the program.
All sponsorship funds go back into the Community Garden and the care of the chickens.
